Workshops

If you are interested in learning more about how to use the pastels, I often run workshops which anyone can attend. A workshop offers you a whole day’s pastelling experience with the benefit of ongoing advice and feedback to enable you to create a beautiful work of art.
The day usually runs from 10am to 4pm with lunch included in the price and I supply the use of all materials.
Beginners are very welcome and previous drawing experience is not necessary; I prepare all the line drawings for the subject of the workshop so that a lack of drawing confidence will not hinder any participants. Using a simple transfer method, we are soon able to get pastelling. Even if you are of the “I can’t even draw a stick man” believers, you will be able to do this and create a piece of artwork you can be proud of!
Although I will provide everyone with an initial palette of colours, my whole range of pastels are available for people to choose from as their painting progresses. It is important everyone feels confident that they can make supported choices to create an individual pastel painting. I even have sets of pastels and paper for sale if anyone wants to continue their pastel journey afterwards!
It is lovely to be in a room full of people working on the same subject and everyone is always very supportive and encouraging.
Previous workshops have included subjects such as tigers, hares, bees, flowers, stags and kingfishers.
All abilities are very welcome to attend these and I use different venues in Suffolk.
